We have been in the animal business since 1985 and have a deep understanding of animal nutrition, behaviour and the pet food industry. We take phone orders, online orders and faxed in orders. We also offer over-the phone help for any pet in need. We can customize our treats for any health condition / event.
Our Organic Biscuit Methodology
We use labeled and certified organic vegetables, grains and products for our dog treats, dog biscuits and cookies that we sell as "organic". We use organic flours because they are free of chemical pesticides. We choose rye and barley because they are well tolerated and less likely to provoke an allergic response. Many dogs are allergic to wheat, corn, soy, so we wanted to avoid those ingredients. They are fine ingredients if the dog can tolerate them, but where is the fun in feeding a great tasting treat, only to find your dog, after a moments pleasure, reacting with a fit of itching and discomfort. We wanted a great tasting treat, with no unpleasant effects in all of our dog biscuits recipes and dog treats.
Free Dog Biscuit Recipe
After many emails and calls, we have released one of our recipes from the archive. Here it is in all it's splendor.
1. Preheat oven to 325 Degrees and lightly grease cookie tray.
- 10 cups organic rye flour
- 6 cups organic barley flour
- 8 ounces organic apple puree
- 2 tablespoons organic cinnamon
- 6 cups of water may vary a bit depending on weather
2. Mix all together, roll out to desired thickness, cut into bone shape biscuit, cookie shape, vegetable or shape of your choice. Place on lightly greased tray. For a shiny biscuit, brush with an egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 teaspoon of water)
3. Place in pre-heated 325 degree oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Cooking time will vary depending on how thick or thin you roll out the dough.
4. Cool thoroughly and store in cookie jar, no refrigeration needed. Throughly baked they store for a very long time and usually last for a full year.
Yield is about 5 pounds of treats / biscuits / cookies. Number of treats vary depending on the size and shape that are cut, and how thick or thin you roll out the dough. Your dogs will love you even more! And the whole house smells great while you are baking these! Enjoy.
We constantly work to improve our recipes and welcome any concerns or ideas our resellers / customers might have. We also work with select retailers to create unique biscuits for them and only them.
