Carob Also known as Locust or St. John's bread because it is believed that St. John the Baptist ate carob pods and not locust. And the pods are so consistent in weight and shape that it is also believed that they were used by early jewelers and goldsmiths as the original standard for karat weigh. On the real, it is high in fiber and a good source of calcium. Not dangerous like chocolate, dogs love the flavor, it is low fat, and low in calories.
